Il Kent giardino d’Inghilterra
Il Kent è conosciuto come “Giardino d’Inghilterra“, grazie alla sua storia rurale legata alla produzione di frutta, fiori e luppolo.
Ci sono moltissimi orti,vigneti e bellissimi giardini; il risultato di tanta unione tra uomo e natura è un paesaggio davvero sorprendente dal punto di vista naturalistico.
Non solo la campagna del Kent è bellissima, anche la sua costa è incantevole. Dalle imponenti scogliere alle morbide spiagge sabbiose è il posto giusto per godersi una camminata rigenerante in inverno o un tuffo rinfrescante al mare in una giornata estiva.
Chiunque avrà l’imbarazzo della scelta, tra luoghi naturali, gallerie d’arte, castelli, cattedrali e musei in questa bellissima Contea.
Il Kent è pieno di spazi aperti e splendide viste. È perfetto da esplorare in qualunque stagione.
Noi ci siamo stati in estate e di sicuro la mia sensazione è che ha qualcosa per tutti; coppie, famiglie, grandi e piccini. Dalla sua splendida costa alla lussureggiante campagna ci sono splendidi panorami e varie attività da fare. È un ottimo posto per stare all’aria aperta.
Broadstairs
Una delle spiagge più suggestive viste in Gran Bretagna è Botany Bay a Broadstairs . Nota per i suoi altissimi scogli e per le distese di sabbia che il pittore Turner amava dipingere . Se vuoi ammirare le sue opere ti consiglio di andare nella vicinissima Margate alla Turner Contemoporary, oltre che alla Tate.
Canterbury
Canterbury famosa principalmente per la sua cattedrale, è una città piccola e suggestiva e conserva molto dell’antico fascino medioevale, con le caratteristiche viuzze strette e le case a graticcio. Fondata dai Romani, possiede ancora parte delle antiche mura che cingevano il centro storico.
Se avete in mente di visitare Canterbury, optate per un giro in barca sul fiume Stour. Da quelle parti lo chiamano punting vi sembrerà di entrare in un quadro impressionista.
Whitstable
L’incantevole cittadina balneare di Whitstable è famosa per l’eccellente pesce fresco e le sue gallerie
goditiuna birra locale e delle freschissime ostriche in uno dei pub sulla spiaggia.
Avete bisogno di altre ragioni per visitare il Kent? Appena potete preparate gli zaini e partite. Il giardino d’Inghilterra vi stupirà grazie alla sue bellezze naturali.
P.s. non dimenticatevi di Dover e delle sue bianche scogliere.

Da bambina sono stata tantissime volte in Inghilterra, ma si passava per lo più tempo con i parenti e poco a visitare le bellezze del paese. Ad anni di distanza confesso di conoscere davvero poco il mio paese di origine (vergogna!). E’ una mancanza alla quale so che devo riparare…e penso che esplorare l’Inghilterra sia molto bello da fare coi i bambini.

In genere ci si spinge sempre più in là rispetto ai nostri luoghi di origine, l’Inghilterra, seppure un po’ fredda ha dei posti veramente belli, dal punto di vista naturalistico. Si la trovo davvero perfetta per i bambini, sai intorno ai 3 anni.

Marilù, foto davvero incantevoli. Ma tu sei una garanzia questo. Non conoscevo la zona e, dovendo bazzicare spesso in Inghilterra, la inserirò sicuramente come prossima gita. Comunque luoghi deliziosi, per certi versi mi ricorda la Normandia o la Bretagna.
